Austin Society of Otolaryngology (ASO)

The purpose of Austin Society of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ASO) is to improve patient care by advancing scientific knowledge in the field of otolaryngology – head and neck surgery and to promote good fellowship among members of the society. ASO was founded on October 29, 2012 as a non-profit organization in response to the need to increase communication and foster camaraderie among surgeons practicing otolaryngology in Austin as well as to provide continuing education. We are a tax-exempt organization under 501c(3).

Note: ASO dues are $200 and include TAO dues. 


ASO Bylaws 


Dr. Park received his MD and completed his radiology residency and interventional radiology fellowship training at the Kyungpook National University/Hospital in South Korea. He completed additional vascular and interventional radiology fellowship training at the University of Michigan Medical Center in 2005-2006. After his 15 years career he joined the UVA interventional radiology group in 2009. In 2022, he joined the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center as a full professor. 
  
Dr. Park's primary clinical and research focus centers around embolotherapy, thyroid ablation, congenital vascular anomalies, and lymphatic interventions. He has started thyroid ablation program first in the USA. Dr. Park is very engaged with teaching younger generations and has served as a mentor to many premedical and medical students who are interested in the vascular and interventional radiology field.
